The art of energy and culture

Written by Stuart Haden on July 22, 2014

I didn’t set out to write a series of 3 postings but that is how it turned out. Previously we explored the need for creating readiness in our followers and a recognition of our own personal identity. Perhaps this is what we need to put in. But what do we get out?

Well first off you create energy, flow and vitality. Relaxed times as a team, progress on a new project, improved relationships, gathering information and sense of purpose. Having harnesses

The art of creating an identity

Written by Stuart Haden on July 17, 2014

One of the biggest challenges I face when working with leaders and coaches is locating their identity – who are they being? Where are they coming from and what is their purpose? It is only when an individual can align their identity to their environment that they can achieve high performance, flow, authenticity and impact.

Call it the passport of life if you will, destinations you have visited and maps (not models) that you have adopted. Not just chasing the stamps

The art of readiness in our followers

Written by Stuart Haden on July 15, 2014

Too many leaders and coaches are focussing their development in the wrong area, as much as 50% of the time. You might be familiar with the following story but this really sums up our obsession with the wrong person…

A policeman sees a drunk man searching for something under a streetlight and asks what the drunk has lost. He says he lost his keys, and they both look under the streetlight together. After a few minutes the policeman asks if he

A winning team = identity, coachability & energy

Written by Stuart Haden on July 14, 2014

With the dust settling on one of the best World Cups for years we are left admiring the German football team as they lifted the trophy. Prior to the tournament I tipped four teams – OK, Spain and Italy failed to get out of their groups and Brazil suffered the shock 7-1 defeat to the now champions. 1 out of 4 isn’t bad?! But where do the secrets of high performance lie?

The German team have an identity. Somewhat shaken up

Presence and gentleness in coaching with Anthony McCann

Written by Stuart Haden on July 9, 2014

Here are my reflections on the European Mentoring and Coaching Council’s (EMCC) research conference. I was delighted to attend Anthony McCann’s presentation where I was struck by his take on to coaching principles – presence and gentleness. I have also recorded a Skype interview with Anthony so if you want even more depth and please take a look at that session.

Anthony introduces two great made up words to add greater precision to what we understand presence to be. ‘Hereness’ and

Easy access to £2K worth of funding for leadership & management

Written by Stuart Haden on July 2, 2014

Are you a small business owner, or do you know someone who is? This a great new scheme where you can get up to £2K worth of funding. Yes there is lots of funding out there, but it normally requires a lot of fusing!? Accounts, org charts, business plans and a blood sample (!?) required. Which is why I have never applied in the past. But I got the funding after a 5 minute online application and a 30 minute

Are you ready for the masterclass movement?

Written by Stuart Haden on June 26, 2014

I hope you have enjoyed my recent postings about how to organise a masterclass. I said at the outset I wanted to be disruptive, so I hope I’ve got you thinking about – new ways of experiencing learning and a topic that you could introduce to a group. So if you want more just get in touch…

I run masterclasses to hack authenticity. Plain and simple, hacks that lead to high performance. Potential topic areas include…

1) Being an authentic individual/leader/coach.

2) Ensuring

How to organise a masterclass – part 2

Written by Stuart Haden on June 24, 2014

I am back on Storm Beach shaking up the masterclass movement! This short vid describes the nuts and bolts of getting a masterclass off the ground, and the good news is – it’s really easy. Just an 8 step process…

Here is the process in black and white…

1) Contact your network to agree the content for the masterclass, their participation and venue.
2) Contact me to agree a date and the final costs.
3) Book venue in principle.
4) Contact your network with the estimated

How to organise a masterclass – part 1

Written by Stuart Haden on June 19, 2014

As promised I have headed off to Storm Beach with my trusty flip chart and some great ideas to get the masterclass model moving…

OK so dealing with the first problem – open courses can be expensive. Primarily because providers have to market the course and cover costs such as venue etc. Sometimes you are looking as much as £499 for a one dayer or £3,000 as an in-house group. My solution is easy I charge £1500 for the event, with

Masterclasses and why they beat open courses hands down

Written by Stuart Haden on June 17, 2014

As a creative individual I tend to jump to different possibilities quite quickly. Which is why I am always on the lookout to challenge the human development industry so that it can meet participants needs and break free from tradition. Expensive open courses have been a bug bear of mine for sometime. Value for money can be questionable, unless you are the provider that is! There is no scam to detect, just a more authentic way to deliver the learning.
